Removing your AI will help to keep your header pipes chrome and not purple. Also it helps when you want to check your plugs. The system puts extra air in the exhuast heating and leaning out the mixture, supposedly lowering emmisions.
I am running the tors (offroad pipes), and like them loud enough that you know the bike is running but not so loud as to give you a headache. I rejetted and switched to tbs needles. Check out pat's dinqualotor for proper jetting.
