I know somewhat how you feel, Doug, because the same thing happened to my grandson awhile back.
However, I have been riding since '56 and would not even consider giving it up.
Experience, common sense and protective equipment are the keys. Unfortunately, the young ones do not have the experience and choose not to use the protection. (as well as some of the RUBS and boomers riding from bar to bar with a rag on their heads}
