Triumph is said to be testing a 1530cc parallel-twin cruiser for the crucial US market, aimed at filling the gap between the 800cc Bonneville America and the 2.3 litre Rocket 3.
The as yet unnamed new bike's engine will be a liquid cooled,DOHC,eight valve parallel=twin, and is understood to use two 101.6mm x 94.3mm cylinders from the Rocket 3 engine, rotated 90 degrees to be mounted across the frame.
The engine will also have a 270-degree crankshaft throw-crucial for the American cruiser customer at which the model will be targeted-as well as a five speed gearbox and shaft final drive.

Whopee! Nothing I'd like better than to see a 1500cc 270 degree twin. Shaft drive sounds nice, of course, I wouldn't mind a 6 speed either. A bigger twin that LOOKS like a Triumph would be very hard for me to resist.
