The Speedmaster name resurfaces as a semi-downsized version of the Rocket 3 engine. - The difference is that the engine will mount laterally, use belt instead of shaft drive, and will have a non-visible radiator and will NOT have a tank wart. Another design + is that the engine will be finned as though air cooled (purely for appearance)

Bummer. I thought you were saying it was to be a twin till now. Doesn't sound like it's going to be much cheaper than a rocket either being maybe even more technologically advanced with the same basic engine and just smaller. This is sorta disappointing. But i guess i'll need to see the bike and price before jumping to conclusions. I really find some of Triumphs decisions confusing tho. Everyone and his brother is clammoring for a bigger version of the cruisers and this is what they come up with?!

Its a triple. I hope it doesn't look like the Thunderbird. Or R3. The days of the traditional Triumph twin cruiser are numbered. Too many folks want that Japanese technology. In a couple of years our BAs and SMs will look like 60's triumph bobbers compared to the modern bikes..including Triumph. At least they aren't killing the Bonneville/T100.
