Dateline - Ouray, CO....09/22/2006, last day of Summer.

Woke up to temps in 20s and 8" of snow on the bike. Will post the pic as soon as the lady that took it, sends it to me. Had been in Durango, CO the previous day, and was advise to get my "a$$ over the pa$$," (actually three - Coal Bank Hill Pass, 10840'; Molas Pass, 10810'; and Red Mountain Pass, 11018'). Advice well taken, as it was only cold until Silverton, and then (very dry) snow (to top of Red Mountain), and snow and rain from summit to Ouray. Got in front of a CDOT truck and Ma and Pa Kettle just outside Silverton, and had the road to myself. Interesting concept - 50-55 mph uphill, and 5-10 mph down.

Friday morning - power out in Ouray, no coffee. Make to Montrose, just in time for sleet (1/2 - 3/4" on windscreen), shift to rain, then as I get about a block from the house... yeah, you guessed it (start music - Beatles' "Here comes the Sun" of a bee). Been shining since.
