the Robertson screw...far superior to any other screw type. I believe it is not yet accepted in the U.S.? Crazy Canadians...imagine, a square hole in a screw head!
Well the Robertson screw is deinitely superior to the Phillips screw, it's just that at the time of the invention of the Phillips head, it was compatible with the assembly line tools in the automotive plants where it was first put to use.
I have seen Robertson screws in the US. I bought a set of bits by Makita, and there was about 3 different sizes of square bits in it. You usually see them used for building wooden decks onto houses.

That list of inventions is pretty impressive - some things you never think about like zippers. Others are debatable like the telephone and lightbulb. I like the wonderbra the best.
But since this thread drifted towards canadian 'exports'...
RUSH gets my vote as best.
Celine Dion as the worst.

Wojo,
I heard the Jake (compression) brake was invented in Canada. Of course there are signs entering little towns all over the land banning their use.
Didn't Canada invent snow also?

It was invented in Springfield, MA by James Naismith a Canadian Phys Ed instructor. Yet another debatable Canadian invention. He was instructed to come up with a new indoor game by the Athletic Director at Springfield College.

Yeah so maybe the list should say "Things invented by Canadians" instead of "IN Canada".

I'd have to give my vote to Shania Twain. Can't say I like her music much, but there is a certain appeal to her.

It never said anything about what was invented in the country it just says "Greatest Canadian Inventions". If I ever invented anything I would consider it a Canadian invention no matter where I was when I created it.

It just dawned on me that we've never had a Canadian rally. Maybe we did and I missed it but that would be cool. I vote for Montreal or Toronto.

Aren't Canadian's pretty much solely responsible for inventing more Canadians? Nelson Ale might be a tie, but without above average Canadians in the first place we wouldn't have above average Ale

Here now, I was making a serious social observation and inquiry, as in "What came first, the invention or the Canadian?" A vote for the latter is a vote all the formers .
Plus, I live next to them and have to say nice things.

The Wonderbra has got to be Canadas greatest invention! Just think of all the so so torsos that have been given the breath of new life by that magnificent gift from the frozen north. After that comes the zipper. Just think about how difficult it used to be to make it to the head on time. After an inventive Canajien put his noodle to the problem, men all over the world breathed a sigh of relief. A secondary benefit of the zipper was the even quicker access it afforded to the many feminine wonders encased in, that's right, the wonderbra!
Now if they'd just invent a wonderbra with a zipper, that would be something.
