hi guys thanx for your replies, ive had a look to see what my rights are re- replacement or refund, basically the sale of goods act(uk)say that any product sold has to do the job it was built for and i have the right to ask for a replacement bike, but may not get a full' refund as the bike has passed its 6mt date, however as there were problems befor this date, and ive already expressed concern over its roadworthynes, i have the right to argue the point!. when i 1st asked for a replacement they told me 'triumph' wouldnt do it,but reading the sale of goods act, it says its the responsibility of the supplying dealer 'not' the manufacturer to resolve my greavance!.ive wrote a letter , being as polite as poss,(cos they really have been good dealers).but there comes a time.....
by the way adey, youre prob right, it would have been better to stop on the coned off hard shoulder, but if the breakdown services had turned up they would have blocked the inside lane off,and you can imajine the tailback of trafic that would have caused, friday afternoon on 1 of the busiest motorways.not to mention dangerous!.yes it was a risk but i knew the service area wasnt far away.and at the time i just wanted to park up some where safe.i suppose things could be worse,,i could still be in the tow truck, the bloke driving it was on a mission from hell, talk about tail gateing!!!,the few hairs i had that wernt grey are now!!!

ALAN bikes n beer..is there more to life?
