I have seen an item that will provide a canceling scheme for turn signals and also provide additional brake lights and running lights to the tune of $100.00 or more. Since my left thumb works just fine most of the time, I was wondering if anyone knows how to wire these lights to work without adding the relay guzimo?

The hardest part about doing it without an electronic gizmo is that you then need a seperate brake/tail light bulb in each turn signal. You can make a ring of led's that'll fit around the standard turn bulb, then you just wire it directly in parallel with the existing brake/tail lights.
Lots easier just to get the electronic gizmo tho.

If you are talking about the Signalminder, it does not have the extra brake light. It just turns the turn signals into running lights. Great extra visability, but not another brake light. It also has hazzards.

Here is a link to a previous thread about the device that converts rear signals to running and brake lights. Turn Signal Converter This "kit" doesn't do anything for self-cancelling...just the conversion to running/brakes. Steven

Does anyone know if the Kisan SignalMinder and the Turn Signal Converter than Steven has posted about are compatible? Seems to me that if you're willing to spend the $110 for the SignalMinder and the $50 odd for the converter, that you'd have the benefits of all three, the running lights, the hazards, AND the additional brake lights, IF they were compatible? Anyone know?

I would imagine that brake light kit only involves the brake light circuit, in which case they should be compatible. The Signal minder only taps into the brake light wires to know if it is on or not, so it pauses they counter. I would think the wires would still be hot or not...
Oh wait now that I think of it... That kit ads running lights too? Can you use that kit and NOT use the running light feature? That might get funky with the signal minder...
