No worries coming over help etc. Unless you won lotto since we last met, you will have trouble finding a bike to hire though. Car hire $50/day; Bike Hire $150 / day. - And thats for a 125 - Go figure. I asked why and was told it was insurance. Of course the rent comes down when you want it long term - your link was $131 / day for 21 days for a speedmaster. $131 * 21 = A return air ticket to the UK ! + your insurance excess was half the value of the bike, and another air ticket security deposit.
It may be cheaper to get your cuz to buy you a bike, then sell it again for you after you leave. - you should only loose about half the cost of rental at most.
On the plus side I have joined the Ulysees club here and have a few contacts now - so I will enquire and see if I can find you something, but dont hold your breath.
On the licence front - just bring your UK Licence, no one will care as long as you have a full licence. Remember here they have to get a licence every couple of years, so unless it says when you passed your test on your licence they wont know you only had it a few months, they will think its a renewal. Trust me most officials dont even know how different states work, let alone how the UK works.
Lastly 'The ozzi lot' are split over thousands of miles - its a bit like saying the European lot. You may have to think either NSW or Queensland, and I can not get NSW riders to talk to me on nthe site (but then I am a Pohm
