I removed the rear brake pads to measure the thickness (3 mm.) and reassembled. After a 10 mile ride, I touched the disc and it was warm. I hadn't used the rear brake hardly at all, and the front disc (BA) was cool. Nothing seems to be sticking in the caliper, but I'm curious if anyone else has similar conditions.

Your pads are always in contact with the rotor. There is minimal friction - but - friction, none the less.
Friction = heat. As long as all the parts function correctly, and your pad wear isn't excessive - Ride and enjoy.
