An easy totally labor free way is to spray fine oil all over the chrome and metal bits. Kinda messy to clean up later, but it will prevent rusting or pitting.
Put on a heavy coat of wax and don't cover the bike. lift the wheels off the ground if you can.
Change to oil and filter, fill gas tank, add Stabil to gas. Run bike for a few minutes then shut off fuel and let it run until it stalls when it runs out the gas in the carbs.
