I have a slight amount of drag on the throttle that makes small movements kind of jerky. Not bad, but I want to cure it. Any suggestions for type of lube and or proceedures? I thought I'd disassemble the grip so some lube can be applied to all of the moving surfaces, then move on to the cables. I use some O rings to help reduce return tension, but the sticky movement is present without them.

The cables have an inner silicon sleeve that is not supposed to be lubed. If it is the cable that is actually sticking, you need to replace it. If you get lube in the cables (which may not even be possible due to the constriction) it will gum them up and make them all but useless.
Check everything else first. A lot of drag is caused by the actual throttle housing being slightly too close to the bar end, causing resistance and sticky throttle. Just loosen the small allens on the bottom of the assembly, slide it a pubimeter out towards the bar end and retighten. If this doesn't cure it, check the actual cable runs to see if it is getting hung up somewhere under the tank, and then the throttle mechanism on the carbs.
I would almost guarantee that the cables themselves are not the problem.

It's the metric equivanant of "a skoash". And I don't know how to spell that....

Well, I remember a more "course" difinition of the term pubimeter that we used in the AF to describe a very close tolerance but it IS very offensive to the fairer sex at best.

Thanks Pat, as usual, you're correct. Somewhere between 5 decipubimeters and 1 pubimeter out towards the handlebar end, the sticky throttle loosened up. I removed the throttle from the bar and applied a thin film of teflon infused white grease on the section that the sleeve rotates on to reduce friction against the bar itself. Having grown up when Teflon (PTFE)was first marketed, I'll buy almost any lube product that has some in it. Oh, I'm sure it's been covered in other threads, but we can't use any oil, additives or filters that have been treated with PTFE. Our wet clutches would probably slip from the reduced friction.
