One of the regular passengers at work is a memeber of an armed unit for the Metropolitan Police force (London for those who don't know..) He is an armed escort for important people. He tells me Margaret Thatcher is losing it... but that's another matter. (Before someone else sparks up....some would say she never had it in the first place - I'm just too young to remember!)

Anyway. he says that if he fires one bullet not at the practice range, he's off normal work for a minimum of two days. He's got ream after ream of paperwork to go through and convince the seniors that it was justified.

He's never fired in anger. In some ways I'm glad. But people like him are needed these days. That's a bad sign.

I think he's a nutter. He makes me feel sane...that worries me. A mad man walks around our capital with a big automatic gun....and he's licenced to do it!
Then I had him arrest a fare dodger. (The perks of him not paying for his travel is that I can get him to do legal things - like yell at people for not paying, smoking in the toilets...stuff they shouldn't be doing..)
He's a scary bloke when he goes all official. Gun or no gun - I wouldn't cross him.

As far as coppers go the average carries a CS spray. I saw some in London on Saturday carrying a small handgun - but that was around Parliament, and matey above - elite....just don't let him know....
