I can't imagine it being that much louder out in the open. Mine isn't muffled at all under the seat. Just ask the cager I blasted yesterday that was pulling into my lane on I-19.
Btw, it doesn't vibrate the seat either. If it did I'd do the mod myself on all the bikes for the women that wanted it.
