took deievery at aournd 9:15 yestesterdy...put 88 miles on her. hanvt named her yet "Silver"? nah too corny.
Ok first impressions nice smooth ride handles great suspemtion a little stiff. Very nimble. Would like a little more low end tourque. Nice smooth power delivery.Riding postion is good I'm used to farward controls, had a little trouble down shifting. Got my steal toed size ten stuck under the shifter couple times will have to adjust that. Only took her up to 60 dealer said go easy but that breif time at 60 felt real good cant wait to see what 70 feels like,
Did one stupid thing forgot to turn on gas....got about 2 miles ran the carbs dry.....i was standin next to her about to start beating her with a ball peen. then i looked at the petcock. ooops.
Road her to work this morn..caused quite a stir among the harly boys.Got a thumbs up from most of um. Couple of them didnt even know Triumph was back in buiness.
Got to do somthing about the sound, the stock pipes are a little too quiet. Any sugestions in that area?
sorry guys and gals didnt mean to write a book.

I have 2500 miles on my BA now and mine was very, very stiff when new. I too was dissapointed with the torque but that got better. Shifting was a real exercise and I had to have that adjusted-I wasn't sure Neutral existed the first few hundred miles.
After 2500 miles, off road silencers, rejetting and just loosening up, it is a different bike. Enjoy!

HI-HO SILVER!
There's lots of great choices for pipes. Come with us to the NorEast Rally and you'll be able to hear an assortment.
I was amazed at the performance increases gained by some simple mods, you will be too. Wake up the sleeping beast! Pipes, pull the snorkle, UNI filter, rejet and adjust carbs. Think you're smiling now? Just wait, you'll see!
Let me know when you want to get together and ride. Saturday afternoons, ansd Sundays are good for me.
Watch out for the four wheelers, Uncle Charlie

Glad you got out and about, all those noted questions at first are really cool, made me feel like a big shot. But it gets a little tiring. Picked up my Mulberry 5/19 6,000 miles to date. If you are married or have a girl friend get used to some sarcasm. Oh you are polishing your new girlfriend. I whish you paid that much attention to me. Oh going out again. On a clear sunny day "you should not go out its going to rain. Also get used to checking the local weather radar to see if you can squeeze in a ride b4 the next down poor. Have lots of fun, I know you will. RIDE SAFE. Just today almost got another SUV enema, large Chevy 10 feet behind me going down rt 4 from Burlington. Some times I wish I had the ba()s as some rowdy bikers I Know "buy a moderate size ball peen hammer its a great tool if brought out when SUV, young girls smoking, talking on cell and drinking coffee, are too close. It's a good mirror adjuster." Lots of really cool places to ride in NW, CT and Eastern NY. Rt 34 from Derby to Danbury, Rt 179 from Canton to the Mass line then Mass 57 either east or west. Rt 22 in NY is really good, I just wish I had the time to take it to Burlington VT. Rt 7 from New Milford north into Mass but it kind of sucks in Pittsfield MA, lostS of in city driving. Oh one thing to get used to with all the rain and foliage growth many rt and STOP signs are hidden by the foliage. Well enough blabber from me. RIDE HARD, RIDE SAFE.

If she complains, buy her one. Weather? That's what rain suits are for. As for the cagers? Ride like EVERYONE is out to kill you! Billy Lane ring a bell?

Break in? I didn't take mine over 80 until at least I had 30 miles on it. As above just no long term set speeds for a bit but don't be afraid to twist it.
congrats on the new ride.
Try to attend that Noreast rally, some great Triumph minds will be there to guide you along.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

Sorry Abe, I meant back in Buisness as "available in the USA". Us Yanks talk a little funny somtimes.Triumph dosnt advertise much in the US.I only found out "they were back" when i ran into a guy at a local coffee shop riding an 03 Bonnie. Only learned about the America and Speedmasters when I checked out Triumph on the web.
