Interesting John, the trucker's comment rings a bell w/me. Have owned 2-6cyl Jeep GR. Cherokees that got 15 mpg, had ok power and top end but towing loads left a little to be desired. So the 3rd one is the 4.7 V8 and it gets 16 mpg, better everything and lower rpms too. No doubt, longer engine life and better mpg motivates truckers too.
