This is the first year that I'm starting to believe the rumours about a new America and Speedmaster. Why you ask? I believe that the new '07 models, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, have to conform to the new E.U. emissions standards. I recall reading somewhere that carbs will no longer be permitted on vehicles of any sort and that cat converters will be mandatory. What this will do is completely change what our bikes are like and how they will look. I'm alright with that, I like my bike but change is also good and you never know what can come about with it. What I really would hate to see go are the "classic" range from Triumph. The Bonnies, Thruxtons, and Scramblers. Those just wouldn't have the feel of nostalgia with a new styled engine. Would Triumph bother to put in faux carbs just for the look? Who knows.
Now if I am wrong, I've heard of this happening just never in my presence, and the 865 engine is put into our bikes would I upgrade? Nope. The work and attention I've put into my bike wouldn't be worth it. I think it would be much more cost effecient to just put in a big bore.
