where did USNS come from? When I was in, Providence was USS Providence, SSN-719 (it was usually moored next to my boat, the Augusta, SSN-710, a 2nd flight 688, and the Corpus Christi (knew guys on both boats that I started in boot camp with in LOVELY Great Lakes, Oct-Dec 1985!! BRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
