Suzie and I where riding yesterday when we made a stop
Pulling up next to us where two women riding together one on a Vivtory one on a Honda Shadow.
Now understand its me,my son Robert and Suzie on her bike.
So we do what we normally do when we pull up next to a fellow biker, start talking to them. Suzie goes "Nice bikes!!!" No words back, I say " where you guy headed?"
Again no answer back. My 12 year old son walks up says "you guys ok?" Finnaly the more male one looks down at him and says "we are fine we just dont talk to you people!"
WTF? This was a first.

I think that, about then, I might have said something like, "You should loosen up and enjoy life. Hell, we even talk to people on fake Harleys."

"You people"?????
You gotta wonder what the definition of "you people" is?????

Chris, they're obviously very seriously socially challenged. I wouldn't take it personally.

Sad how some people work so hard at being unhappy. It is so cool that your family rides together. Out of the mouths of babes, lol. Your son's polite question goes to the core issue. Enjoy your family and ride safe.

We didnt take it personally
its just funny
I have meet people of all sex race creed color on these bikes. No matter what they ride 99% share a bond
always a greeting always at least a nod. We have just become acustom to having a conversation with other folks on bikes. For us its a family event like it will be in about 45 min from now. I was just amazed. They gave Suzie as dirty a look as you could as they road away. strange

There are arse holes in every walk of life. What's rare is that you discovered two at the very same moment. I hope that doesn't indicate they are massing. Its great your son was there. His inocense provided the best possible line.

I think she meant bikers, not breeders. Most lesbians I know aren't that anti-social (unless they have other "psychological issues").

What a shame that we live in a society where people think that it is okay to be blatently rude. I guess they must have felt that they were being oppressed by your conformist riding group... You people and your niceties. And no, i won't have a good day.

LADIES???????

Shame they take that attitude. They would probably find that bikers would be far more accepting of their lifestyle then most.

Oh well, as they said in 'The Full Monty', there's nowt as queer as folk.

Well Chris....offhand I'd say that as we all know by now, these Triumphs of ours are not only "geezer magnets", but evidently yesterday you found out that these bikes serve as some kind'a "lesbian repellant", TOO!!
("You People"???!!!....I can't figure this thing out either)

Cheers,
Dwight
(ya know, it's come to the point that if I see a greybeard walkin' towards me after I park the bike somewhere, I quickly divert my eyes and make a speedy exit away from the BA...ESPECIALLY if I'm runnin' late)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I'm pretty sure Chris is lesbian repellant. For the bike it's just guilt by association.

Whats the matter, Phil? Are you worried they're going to offend our vast lesbian contingent? I mean we already know how intolerant most of the people (well, the vocal ones) on this site are.

You know guys, I have a business account at Route 66 Harley Davidson, Tulsa's largest HD dealer. and even though I'm Black and ride a Triumph, wearing a Triumph T-shirt and hat, when I go in to purchase parts(for that ongoing custom) The owner and personnel at the parts counter treat me OK(must be all the money I'm spending). The most I'll get is a little ribbing about riding a Triumph. So when I hear stories about that incident it just burns me up.......Angelis

Haven't found a culture or group yet that is either immune or has exclusive rights to having a few "with attitude."

On the other hand I just changed my oil after a few weeks of work distractions and am ready for a little spin .

Actually we do sort of have that contingent... Remember the Legend in GA? So maybe not specifically offending that contingent, but friends of them maybe.

In reality, we have so many lurkers, or so many people who popped in, took a look around and left, you never know who is out there. The reason many of them stay lurkers or just go away could very well be some of the ignorant sh!t that get said on this site. If I was a lurker and people started bashing fat libertarian pollacks I'd probably not chime in anytime soon.
