I don't mind the loudness, I rather like it. I have only put about 3000 on it since new in July but don't have any complaints with the D&D's. With wind noise and a steady cruising speed they aren't bad for distances. On road trips I usually put in ear plugs if it is over 100 miles. They are only really loud when you open her up. I can only speak for myself but the look of the D&D's grew on me, I did not like the look at first. Now I think nothing looks better.
