Well, this is my last day at work. First time since I got out of the army that I quit a job whithout having another to go to. The professional packers will come Wed to box up the heavy stuff, the movers pick it all up Thur to haul it all off, and I'm on my way to the next chapter.

Good luck, don't waste too much time getting a new internet provider, so you can come back to the forum!

It takes alot of guts to do what you are doing and I give you all the credit in the world. It's a big world out there and you will not reget your choice.

Good luck and keep in touch.

I am sure you will enjoy New Mexico. Its a far cry from the urban jungle you are leaving.

Best of luck.

If it makes you feel any better I will be outta work on Sept. 8th and also do not have a new job lined up. I have one last pay cheque coming and should be saving it but instead I am going to a bike rally in Grande Prairie, AB. Good luck with everything Greybeard.

Knowledge is power. From what I have gathered over the years reading your posts - you have LOTS of knowledge. A long time ago a very wise person told me to get paid for what I know, not for what I do. If you simply DO SOMETHING you can be replaced. Knowledge is harder to replace. Just my gut, but you'll be fine.

I thought you were retiring? You can drop off that 69 Dodge D100 on the way by Tucson when you go to New Mexico. I have a good home for it.

Good luck on your trek to New Mexico. I'm sure you'll enjoy the riding out here in the southwest. There's plenty of back roads with not much traffic.

Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.

Greybeard,
Good luck in your journey. I'm sure everything will work out fine.

I'm inspired by you and Cody, It takes balls. The better half and I have been kicking around the idea of relocating for a couple of years now and everyday at this miserable job I get one step closer to saying screw it! Anybody got any job leads in the Houston/ Katy, TX area?

Here is a link to a satelite photo of my new home..
http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/photopo...=500&page=1
The brown roof is the house. Grey roof is my shop and the white roof is the feed barn/tak room/stable.
The lot extends maybe 1 - 1 1/2 blocks to the east and I also get the somewhat bigger lot to the west.

Oh, the wee building in the NW corner is a chook house.

One of the problems I'm facing is to remember how to do whatever I want after all these years of working.

Good luck GB! Uh....what's a chook house?

And for the last problem, I thought you had more than one bike....

Enjoy, Tom.

But, what do I know?

Yeah, but I'm really locked into the 'gotta get home so I can take a nap before going to work' syndrom.
