You know, the wife has a bigger pilion so I am searching for a bigger passenger pad. Anyone know of a lusher alternative to the stock seat ??? Thanks ...

The touring seat has a far larger & cushier passenger (and rider) seating area. It's not the most terribly attractive seat, but effective.
The passenger pillion from Corbin is also slightly larger and better contoured. So far I've resisted the urge to spend $700 on a rider seat, passenger pillion and backrest.
I put a Saddleman gel-pad under my factory seat, so far with good results. There are pix in my photo gallery. I'll probably do the same to the wife's pillion. It won't make it any larger, just a little more comfortable for a reasonable cost.

Are there two pillion pads available ? The standard ? and the Touring ? I am not sure, but that glove compartment for the owners manual has to add some rigidity ..

Al, the touring seat is an whole new seat, not just the pillon pad. It basically looks like a slightly bigger stock seat with an integrated pilon pad - it's all one big piece. I have one and I find myself using it almost all the time for comfort (it really is much better for driver and passenger), even though I prefer the looks of the solo America seat with the pillon removed hands down.

I didn't think to mention the touring seat is a one piece unit. I've never seen the touring pillion, it would probably make sense to buy one of those for my bike and add the gel insert, that would probably be the best of both worlds. Does anyone have a pix of the touring pillion installed on a bike?

Unless I'm finally addled by beer, there is no "touring pillion"... The passenger pillion is separate on the America, and the optional Touring seat is one piece, rider and pillion combined. I had one and sold it. The rider area gave more support but to me it pitched me forward and was not comfortable because of that......

I just ordered the touring pillion over the weekend from the local dealer, will give my info when it arrives. Bear in mind I'm adding the America solo seat to my Speedy, so I can't really compare the stock pillion to the touring.... I'll be sure to measure against one on the showroom. Cheers, Mike

That part number is the stock Americal pillon pad. Go to the Triumph website and look under seat accessories for the America (2004). The pic is identical to my stock America pillon pad:

the corbin pad is bigger and much more comfy then the stock seat. never sat on mine but thats what i am told. looking at the 2 though the corbin is noticably larger.

I think that picture wise they probably look alot alike. I don't think there's much difference in them just a little extra padding. Probably not enough to notice in pictures.

Let me get back to you about this. I'll measure both tomorrow and post the results here. Main diff. is that the original one is convex and the touring is concave. More ergonomic so to speak. Before changing the mrs could take about 20-30 mins of riding before she needed a break. No complaints now, even if we don't stop for a couple of hours.

That touring pillion pad looks like it has a slightly lower profile than the stock pillion pad. Does that have the slot for the owner's manual?

Talking about wives posterias can get a little near the knuckle,for me its a taboo subject,lets just say my wife's is a little larger than averidge.I went one better than a plush saddle,I bought her her own motorcycle so now I ride solo,much easier!

Al, yep just ordered from my local dealer, sounds like the same price........still hasn't arrived, waiting for that and the Thunderpipes. Good thing they're only accessories I've ordered and not repair parts, and I've got the bike to ride while I wait!
