I'm really not familiar with the Sceptres, but at only 500 miles it seems unusual. I noticed that nobody asked, has the AI been removed? The leaner the bikes run the hotter and the AI system makes it way too hot. Most unmodified bikes have early bluing due to the AI. If it has been removed, it still could be running too lean. Other Sceptre owners said they have golding on their pipes. The fact that the headers are gold and bluing (and they are double walled) sure sounds like it is running too hot.
