While I was on a Venture ride in Susanville I won a can of Seafoam. I have never used a additive before, gas or oil. One of the riders with a 20 year old Venture tells me to try it in my 03 Triumph with 30,000 miles on it. He says to empty the can into the tank and fill it up with gas. I finally tried it yesterday. Holy cow! After about 40 miles the bike is running like I haven't seen since new. I'm hitting the limiter in 1st through 4th very easily, and the roll ons in 5th gear 60 to 110 MPH are amazeing. I'm now a believer, and I'm going to start useing this in all my bikes and autos. The guys in the Venture group recommend a can in the tank every 5 to 6000 miles to keep the carbs clean. These guys seem to know what they are talking about. They have 4 carbs to deal with, and since useing Seafoam they don't have to disassemble and boil out their carbs.

Nice to know ! i only have 8.5k so a suppose it's not gonna help me. But i'll file this away for when i have a lot more miles racked up.

How big is the can? How do the directions on label compare with whole can in tank?

The can is 16 fluid ounces. The directions states one pint treats 8 to 25 gal. of gas. One guy said he bought a used bike that had so much varnish built up in the carbs that he added a can to a 1/4 gal of gas and ran it through in the garage (water cooled engines). The fumes and smoke killed all living things, eight legged, 6 legged, and 4 legged, that had lived in his garage before. The can states that you can inject this stuff directly into your injection rails to clean out the injectors, and to remove carbon build up on the valves.

I use it but only a few ounces per tank every other month. I haven't noticed any "wow" factor, but I haven't had any fuel problems either.

Seafoam is also the stuff you put into an almost empty gas tank (of a cage) in order to pass an emissions test.
I would be concerned about heat. Your pipes will blue faster and I'm not too keen (sp) on all that extra heat. I would think you should take it easy with this stuff.
Just an opinion.

You can get the same benefits from using ethanol blended gas. They say the ethanol cleans the deposits left by pure gas and also eliminates water from the fuel. I know that when I first moved back fron California in 1987 I had to change the fuel filters in all my vehicles once I started using ethanol because all the gunk from their fuel systems came loose and clogged the filters. In one case it took two filter changes a week apart.

That's interesting about Ethanol gas. I have used it almost weekly in my bike since it was new, and never had the slightest problem with the gas, filters, or plugs. I also use it a couple of times a month in each of my cars and never had a problem, and I put about 35,000 miles per year on them. It is nice to know that ethanol automatically cleans the carbs, injectors, etc.

I don't see anything on the can or their web site about using SeaFoam to pass a emissions test. Shops use this for cleaning fuel rails and injectors at 50% gas and the rest SeaFoam. After using a full can in a tank of gas, I did not see any blueing of the pipes. As far as ethanol or any cleaners in Calif. gas, I don't know...

I wanna say a couple years ago, well maybe like 8-10, the can even use to say something about passing the emmisions test on it. I seem to remember them taking that off. But hey, I am found wandering around aimlessly from time to time to time to time to time to time to time to time.....

I just put about 4oz in my tank which was about 3/4 full.
After I rode for about 10 miles I hit the throtle hard at about 2000rpm in first gear.
The front wheel started to come up.
That has never happened before.
Amazing product.

Who sells this snake oil, er I mean Sea Foam product?

I got it at Autozone.
It was $4.99 for a 16oz can.

Never have been good at reading directions. Even the wife says I couldn't find it if it wasn't already attached to me...

I was in the local auto parts store early this evening looking for some stuff for a minor invention (more on that in a later thread). While milling about, out from the shelf cries a tin can of Seafoam saying, "Buy me, buy me!". I'd read this post and figured what the hey... So I put a conservative portion of the secret sauce in the tank (Having worked in and around chemicals my entire adult life, my nose tells me this stuff is predominently isopropal alcohol). I slosh it about and head off down the highway. This crap does do something - and it does it quite soon. I noticed an immediate change in roll-on performance in all gears and significantly greater top end response. I somehow doubt this is a permanent result, but rather burning off the iso. Time will tell. Judging by the smell I'm sure that if varnish were a factor, it would indeed melt some away. Anyway, I can attest it does do something.

you better drop in the Barnett clutch before you add SeaFoam. I'm guessing it will give you 150 more hp & give you @least 75 more mpg. All kidding aside it speed up & "smooth" out your idle. The exhaust fumes are kinda nice too.
