Some like myself removed it and left it out. It's been said by a nuber of perople that the filter in the tank is all you need. I tend to agree after removing my inline filter and the petcock. The screens are the same in how fine they are, and the inline was 100% clean while the tank filter had a ton of garbage to be cleaned. It's a real pain to pull and then reinstall the inline, so if you want you can remove it entirly. And if it bothers you no having one you can always add one up further where it's easy to get too.
