Anyone know of a quick remove/install windshield without a bunch of leftover hardware hanging off the bike once it its removed? Thanks all.

I use the Slipstreamer SS-10 Viper I got from Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse

Works nicely. Have had it for over a year. The longest trips have been to Daytona twice and up to Georgia. No issues with it. I have it angled to match the rake and it seems to work best there (minimal wind buffeting).

Look on the bars in this pic and just as they start sweeping up is the black hardware for the windshield:

Here's a closer look. It's hard to see but there are holes in the piece pointing forward that the windshield sticks into. The thumb screws on the end tighten onto the posts in the holes. One thing I had to do is add some blue Loctite to the thumb screws so they would not vibrate loose:

Here's from MAW's website (I have the clear version):

Have you checked out the Memphis Shades? As discussed in previous threads, the model for a Suzuki Marauder will fit our bikes.

Check out the Slipstreamer HD 50 Police Faring. A copy of the classic Harley police screen from the 50's & 60's. On and off in 10 seconds. Looks awesome on the America or standard Bonnie. $71.00 from BikeBandit.com in San Diego - 3 day delivery.

I have the same Slipstreamer as Phil. It's certainly a quick on/off, just a few minutes even if you put on/remove the clamps on the handlebars. Recently I did have to change out the wingnut-like bolts that hold on the windshield bars to the handlebar clamps. These weren't all that secure to begin with as they seem to always work loose at least once a day on a trip, and I'd have to use a pair of pliers to get them really tight. So I just went down to the local hardware store and picked up some allen head screws to replace them. Since they are the same size head as the handlebar clamp screws, I don't have to carry another tool to tighten everything up, and the allen heads with a wrench is much easier to adjust then the stock wingnut-like screws with a pair of pliers routine.

I'm not a big windshield fan, so I only use one on long trips, or when it's heavy bug season. The Slipstreamer Viper S-10 suits my needs just fine for the $70 it cost....even with the hardware issues.

If the stock Trump windshield (or the price) doesn't bother you, I replaced the nuts on the shield itself with stainless wingnuts. Still gotta use the socket on the tree mounts but it only takes about 5 minutes. If you're interested in more details I can provide pics. I'd have to dig the thing out from under a pile of rags and stuff in the shop. I took the shield off two years ago and never put it back on. Pat rips on me about it everytime I show up at his place without it but I like the way the bike looks without it. If I go on a long trip...and anything under three hours is not long, I'd use it.

Some folks on the TriumphRat.net forum (Big Twin) have been speakly highly about the Slipstreamer HD-O Mini Police windshield. $80 and apparently it comes off quicly, same as the slipstreamer shield referenced in this post. I like the classic styling, very close to my Triumph shield. I'd love to be able to quickly remove my shield. May do the wingnut thing like BlueBass.

The Memphis shade windshields with the Suzuki Maurauder mount kit is awesome. The Slipstream is a nice windshield but no comparison in quality. If your looking for a low price solution go with Slipstream. If you want top quality go with Memphis Shades or Windvest.

I have a Windvest screen and it is 2 allen screws and about
1 minute to remove and the 2 polished billet brackets are
all that is left and they are right beside the riser clamps
so they kind of blend in. The Windvest wasn't cheap but
the quality is A-1 I love it and would buy another.

The Memphis shades come off very quick with 1/4 turns on 4 alan bolts. You don't remove the bolts you just give a 1/4 turn on each and she'll slip right off.
