Pop made this prototype exhaust system. Pretty freakin' cool! I think the outer can need to extend further forward but other than that..... What do you think? Double Slash -brent

Like ****** It's straight thru right now. We'll put the guts in later. Pop has a revelutionary idea for the baffle system which, if it works, will make everyone happy (no pressure Pop :-).

For God's sake Brent! Send me a pair! I love them! I'll find a muffler shop to finish them out with baffles, and a chrome shop to get rid of all that ugly black junk. Why doesn't anyone want chrome? All the Harley girls go for the blacked out look. I thought we were a breed apart? Oh well, I guess I shouldn't think anymore. It's awful being so stupid, and thinking is so painful. Dennis

Ok, another opinion. WTF? I don't like them at all, sorry, not my cup of tea at all. Kind of weird looking to me.

Hmmm... Now if I were to be able to get just the inner pipe (like the old drag pipes)with enough baffling to get the required back pressure - Now, that's the ticket. Lets see, either black or chromed is ok, but maybe just polished s/s to match the headers - Yeah, I can see them now...

Brent,
I am with "pipedr". If you can get the back pressure right I am sold.
I have never seen any thing like them. And after all we bought these bikes to be different. If you can be different, look way cool doing it, and have the performance, well....Heck Ya!!!!
I have epco's, and been around bub's each seams to just miss having the right back pressure for the best operation. If you and your pop get this right, patent the design and sell the rights to the big boys.
I am in after I here the performance results.

Brent, I'm with Pat & Phil on this one. IMHO, it looks like something for a dune buggy (if anybody still uses that term?) "Opinions are like........." I must say that I have been happy with everything else I have ordered from you - these pipes just aren't for me.

Personally, I'd rather have all black or all chrome. But it might look better on the SM then America because it would match the blackout of the Speedie. But you gotta admire Pop's ingenuity for coming up with this stuff -PES

To me, it looks something that might come from one of those bike building shows. That would be great for some folks, but a little too much for my conservative tastes.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. It's definitely useful.
Dad wanted to do the inner pip in polished but I wanted it done in black. I think the black looks real cool but polished will probably be more popular with the masses.
Thanks again and keep the comments coming...

I get it. That was a good one Brent. LMAO, just some left overs you stuck on a straight pipe and snapped a pic of eh.
Brent you are one funny cat. And to think some people thought you were serious.

Your Dad's hard work on these pipes is great! Phooey on those party-pooper/nay-sayers. Build it and they will come (sell?).

Feedback? Okay, just my two cents.... cool idea but something is not clicking with me. Perhaps if the outer sleeve was just a little bit smaller in diameter so as to not look like a "pig in a blanket" thing. Another thought, wondering what it would look like if you turned the outer sleeve a quarter turn so the slashes were pointing down. And finally.... maybe add another smaller slash section over the exposed inner pipe? or some kind of heat shield. Maybe something with holes or slots? That section looks like exactly where my legs are positioned when sitting at a stop, can just picture burned boots/pants or for those more daring burned flesh if you accidently brushed up against them. Man, I envy you guys, I would love to have the time, equipment/tools and know how to "prototype" stuff all the time. Pop isn't perhaps looking to adopt is he? You know, I never had a brother Brent, hehehe.

I personally don't care too much for them. But I love the way you and Pop keep coming up with new ideas. You know the old saying.. You can't please everyone all the time. So keep up the good work.

I like it. It's not your classic retro look, and that's probably what turns some folks off. Looks kinda 'Goth'. If I were building my post-modern, neo-chop, hooligan bike, (someday soon) I'd use 'em.

Brent, I think it has potential but there is something not right about them. Maybe if you had the slashes 180 out from each other and the black pipe had 2 tiers a smaller and large feeding into the slash. This is what R&D is all about.

Come on Skillet! Harley's have always had the market on Chrome. I'm trying to go away from chrome for that very reason!

Brent,
If you don't end up making them. I will take the prototype.
Hate to see a good looking set of pipes not get used.
Keep the good ideas coming.

Johnny - We're definitely making them. Based on our own preferences and some of the comments here, the design will change slightly but the overall look will remain very close to what you see on the prototype. I should have a working set for GA.

What about the chrome piece covering the whole black pipe but then having the chrome cut out with the black showing underneath. Maybe some kind of flame cutout or "America". Now that would be cool -PES

I like em, I don't love 'em , but i like 'em....
I think they would look good on a speedie with the headers and collar powder coated black.
