I've used them to run an impact wrench, but not for riding. I think the gel is primarily to absorb vibration, (but don't quote me on that) which isn't a problem with Triumphs, at least not that I know of anyway.
Just a thought - and I'm not telling you what to do, but, with Fall & Winter coming, perhaps the money would be better spent on Gore Tex gloves. (Cabelas generally sells Gore Tex at far less than a motorcycle supply store.)
