That's the new style. My old one is on the bottom with the welded piece I broke off. The new style is substantially better than the old which doesn't help you. My only advice is to treat it gingerly.
I'd still have my old one if I had not tried to gorilla it up after leaving it down on a trailer. I should have loosened the straps....
