I've found the same - The hard way. I once returned to find a previous motorcycle lying on top of my car (front fender and hood). Whatever you intend to use these things for, I don't reccommend you leave them elevated and unattended, even when using the stabilizing devices they may be equipped with, and use them in an area that will provide you some form of escape in the event they fail.
