I bought one of these a few months ago and it seems to work fine. It's cheap, requires no hook-up and does the job. Delivery was prompt. Just some private guy making them in his garage I think. Are there any other products out there like this? http://www.brakeflasher.com/cycle.htm

Nifty idea and very simple too. Triggered by a mercury switch with the angle adgusted to suit your desired deceleration rate.

Interesting idea. I like the battery powered idea because it could kick in during engine braking. I wonder if it's prone to false lighting under certain riding conditions. Anyone using this?
Heck, I've been rapidly flicking my hand brake to warn drivers that I'm stopping. This might be a great solution.

Thanks Kevin I imagine the only time it'd be really likely to give a false indication is if you had it set to be fairly sensitive and were heading down a fairly steep hill. It'd be fairly easy to copy this idea, but I'm a firm believer in not stealing someone else's good idea just to make money for yourself.

I have a modulated brake light on my SM that I got from Brent. It flashes quickly at first and gradually slows down over a couple seconds to 'steady on' when the brakes are applied. I've been thanked a couple times by people behind me who have said it really helped get their attention that I was on my brakes. It's a simple installation and works well. I recommend it as an 'add-on' item that serves a practical purpose quite effectively.

I've been using it for several months. People following me say it flashes very bright. It only triggers under more than average breaking. Sever bumps do trigger it, but that is not all bad - it does get attention. While it's made of fairly stock components, it is well made and runs on watch/computer batteries. I've used it all summer and have not changed batteries. It's also any easy install.

JB, where on Brent's website was this light you're talking about? I sifted through speedmaster and couldn't find what you were talking about, and that's something I'd be interested in Thanx!

I have this for a tail light ...soldered on some white LEDs to light up the license plate. Works like a champ and gets the cager's attention.

Thanks JB, need to break my constant habit of only going through the "what's new" tab. Appreciate it!
