FriarJohn has got it completely correct in my mind. This site/forum whatever ya wanna call it is not a democracy. Sometimes the "man in charge" needs to throw out the freedom of speech rule (flag burning just comes to mind here) and say this is my site and this is what I want here. It is not a publically held or pubically financed site to the best of my knowledge owned by all of us so we gotta go with what they person "at the top" decides.
Personally I have no problem with this. Most of the time I completely disregarded many of the threads in the Longue area and have not bothered to visit this site lately due to the fact that it seems to have gone away from what first brought me here, my TBA (yup one of the black faster ones) quality infomation, ideas on ways to improve performance and looks, and a place to meet other owners of one of the best bikes ever made.
Okay, I'm done now.
