It's a tough thing with old folks. They often shouldn't be driving, but either don't have anyone to get things for them, or don't want to be a burden to others by asking for fetch it runs. We were very extremely fortunate here in that our folks gave up without too much of a battle. They were definately at the unsafe at any speed phase of their motoring careers. I won't bore you with the fender dinking details, but both were very unaware of their surroundings while driving. One 5 mile ride with either of my parents would have beaten anybody's roller coaster, hands down.
