I think if you look hard enough nowadays a lot of the companies are already doing "this" in a big commercial way and releasing a lot of the "old" albums...... NOT digitally remastered just a "new" CD version of the old stuff. I have spent a few hours buried in the rock section at HMV and was surprised just which "old" albums were actually there!
Same sounds without quite so much fun/grief.... beleive me it will be lots of both doing it yourself!
