I recently removed the rear plate to my TOR shorts. All thats left is the packing, but I'll be damned if I can remove it. I've tried a coat hanger and a long piece of fish tape for electrical work to no avail. I can only get small pieces out and there's a ton of this stuff. Anybody out there have any ideas. I'm very frustrated.

I think thte only way to get it all out is to drill out the bolts that hold the brackets on. Then the entire inside will just slip right out. Then you have to tack weld some new compression nuts back on the inside so the brackets can be reattached.
But then you will be so loud earplugs will be required at all times.

A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice. Pat

I Just used a long sharp knife, slide it round the inside and outside edge of the packing, cut thru the middle at various intervals, a pair of realy long nosed pliers dig in and pull, some times you get a little bit, then a whole load 'ill come, took me all of 5 minuets to get mine out.

Thanks for the advice. I'll give the knife and pliers a try today.

The knife idea did the trick. Hacked at it from several angels and used a thin piece of metal with a hook on the end to remove it all. My TOR shorts are now straight pipes, but with a somewhat factory look. Very loud very throaty!! Thanks for the help!
