Now if we're talking Belgian Beer...if ever you're in Ostend THIS is THE place to go ! Over 400 beers each served in their branded glass. If they ain't got the glass - you don't pay !
One of their beers a 'Quack', is like a minature 'yard of ale', served in a wooden holder. you have to put your shoe behind the bar when you order one - to stop you running off with the holder !
And if you have too much - they do bed and breakfast but getting up the stairs to your room can be a problem !
Just around the corner is what we call the chicken and bread cafe. Don't know the real name but all they serve is chicken and bread (and beer!). I asked if I could see the menu and the bartender said "chicken and bread or bread and chicken that's all we do ! a half a quarter or a whole one"
Be careful when you eat the chicken (no cutlery) because your hands get very greasy and your glass tends to slip through your hand.
There's a place in Longbeach Ca that has 186 different draught beers, can't think of the name at the moment.
