The big difference between Bourbon and Scotch is the mash and the barrells. Bourbon is strictly regulated as to how it's made and even what barrells they can use. All bourbon mash must be at least 51% corn and has to be aged 2 years. It also has has to be put into new freshly charred white oak barrels. Many used bourbon barrels are sold to Scotch and Tequila makers. They also can't add anything to make it sweeter, enhance flavor, or change the color. It really is a naturally pure spirit, which is why I like it. Btw, it isn't bourbon unless it says so on the bottle.
