Not sure if anyone here is following the X-Games at all. The other night Travis Pastrana nailed a double back-flip on his bike. It definitley was something to see. It was the first time it had been done in competition.
I tried to find a video of it online, but havent found it yet.

I happened to see that!! It was pretty nuts. I love the X games. I don't watch all the events, but it is cool to see all the stuff they do. The skating and BMX riding is awesome too. I LOVED BMX when I was a kid! Then mountain bikes where the thing, not it is back! So cool. I watched an old movie "RAD" the other day. It's almost comical to see what they considered "extreme" back in the 80s! Of course a lot of it was the "freestyle" stuff, bouncing on one wheel, etc. More gracefull almost, less extreme.

The other competitors were impressed. I'm sure that meant a lot to him.

Good point, that seems like one area of competition where the competitors REALLY respect and encourage eachother.

I think that is one of the things I like about the X-Games. They are all competing with each other, but at the same time they all act as if they are all best friends. it is great in the interviews with them, they hardly talk about themselves, they usually end up saying stuff like, "yeah I did this and that, but did you see that guy do that, wow." It is just a great change from the trash talk of other sports or the stuck up attitude you find in a lot of individual sports. Not to mention, most of those things those guys are doing are absolutley completly amazing!

Fixed. When I went to edit it, for some reason the original was in HTML.

Ahhhh, to be young again. With talent, and without fear or a sense of mortality, or joints that pop and hurt. But that part's coming, ain't it? AWESOME!!

I can't believe how they just lay it out there!! Another guy did a back flip (I think) with no hands and his feet hanging onto the bars or something rediculous. I've also seen front flips. THAT is rediculous. Check out some of the BMX dirt jumping sometime.

Wait till Matt has a couple Saprks in him at the NorEast, we'll get him to try it.

Just thinking of all those cactus needles I'd have to pull out makes me cringe. Been there, done that, but I was on a mountain bike. Crashed into a cholla and had to take the needle nose pliers to one side of my rib cage. Enough of them were in me where they made me sick for a week.
