Can anyone recommend a good 1/2 helmet, I bought elcheapo HJC and it lifts at 65-70+. So what are ya using and were didja get it. Most of dealers around here don't stock many or only full face. The Harley dealer are the only ones with a good selection but they're all branded so harley tax kicks in.

Size matters - AND - Size is purely relative to what the mfgr. says it is... Cheap isn't usually the big factor. I bought a Med. in one brand and a Med. in another. The 1st seemed to fit ok, quite comfortable actually, but did the same. The replacement, also cheap and also MED. fits a bit more snuggly and doesn't move a bit. Always try it on Always try to push it off If you are between sizes, always go smaller.

dill, i have an HJC CS-2 and dont find that it lifts at speed (60-70mph) i have a givi fly screen, and that tends to push most of the air over my head. the HJC is a good fitting helmet, and is great great summer. i have a Nolan flip-up for cold weather. Mark

I bought a Skid Lid a couple of weeks ago. I like it. Got a medium and I get absolutely minimal lift if any, even when the strap isn't synched tight. Sizing on that brand was consistent with my hat size.
One thing to keep in mind, most helmets over time will loosen up some, so if it fits loose new it will be looser down the road.

My Fulmar 1/2 helmet did the same "parachute" thing when I was passing someone at about 70 the other day... Had it on kinda loose and it scared the bejeepers out of me. Retired it the next day. Replace it with a HJC CL33 3/4 with clear face shield. I can't believe how much nicer it is to ride with than the 1/2 helmet. Absolute night and day difference in overall ride comfort. However, I will be getting a Headtrips 1/2 helmet for close to home general back roads cruising.

the head trip helmet fits well. it comes with different strips of padding to customize the fit. one point to be made, though to avoid lift off at higher speeds the strap must be cinched in rather tight. it will feel a little choking at first. but it will prevent lift off, you'll get used to it and it loosens up after a while and will need readjusting.
