Many members have them on their BA/SMs. I think the best place I have seen them mounted is behind the right hand platsic side cover hooked onto the frame. It is out of sight, neat and they work great. I had one but sold it when i went to the belt drive. I never even put mine on though.
But, I see absolutely no problem since there are so many in use.
