What's going on with jet sizes for those wide open pipes? Is it still stock airbox?

Took the words right out of my mouth!

It appears the rocket bars have darn near the same spread.

There's a web site that has most stock bar dimensions. I wonder if they've added the Rocket III. Might be able to find some affordable aftermarket bars that are close.

Oooo, that's really tempting. How tight are the cables with the regular Rocket Bars? Could you mount up the classic bars without a cable change?

Ya know some aftermarket bars are WAY cheaper, mine were only 35 bucks. Of course they were nothing like that... but get some dimensions and shop around a little first. I really like the gentle curve the rocket bars have tho! Probably won't be able to find that aftermarket.

If we knew the rise, pullback, center width, and overall width, it would make it easier to find something similar. I agree Benny, I am really digging those Rocket bars!!

How about it Davin, can you give us those dimensions? Pretty please?

The ones on the America are regular Rocket bars. I don't think the Classic bars would work without a cable change. If I get some time this week I will measure the Rocket bars so y'all can do some research.

The regular bar measurements are located here (courtesy of the Tech Vault):

Maybe you could give us the difference between regular and classic.

here's what i came up with...

Classic Bars: 9" height, 33" width, 16" pullback...

compared to the regular bars: 9" height, 35" width, 16" pullback...

Would it hurt anything to cut a half inch of each end of the bars to make them the same width as the stock bonny bars? Also, can you bend them to a 11 inch pullback??

If they have the bar-end cap nuts welded inside, that might present a problem.

Gorgeous bike. Nice classic look. The only suggestion I would have is that after you decide which bars you are going to stick with; run all the wiring inside the handlebars. You'd be amazed how much that will clean up the look of the front end. Look around the sight, there are instructions to do this. Sandmann's site I think. (???) Awesome bike, I'm envious and coveting.

These wheels are going to become a hot commodity. It is hard enough to find a replacement now, and we're buying up TBS wheels etc. By the way, if you ever have a spare 17" rear wheel from a Thunderbird Sport laying around, drop me a line

Hear that the 07 model also has a 18t sprocket on the primary so the gearing has been revised to match the speedmaster
