I always find it by turning to key to on, hitting the turn signal and hearing which one is clicking. On my bike it is the most rearward one on the right side. It has three prongs labeled 49, 49a and 31.
Ah so - good logic! I wonder what my chances of stopping in at Auto Zone and buying a 3 pronged LED type flasher, and just plugging it into a Triumph?
