Personally I think I enjoy riding with a full-face. I've been riding with an HJC Flip-Face for over a year and I've got a Rodia 1/2 for when it's really REALLY hot. What I noticed about the 1/2 in regards to noise is entirely the strap.

Mostly I wore the flip face based on safety. There's an old biker that owns a shop near me. He was pretty much the first guy who was straight up about selling me a helmet. He wears a full face and he is not the kind of guy who looks like he would. He's been in three accidents since he's been riding. One of which he had just started wearing the full face. Typical left turn in front of him and when he came off the bike he hit the windshield post. Had that been an open face, at the very least his jaw and face would have been crushed. It makes sense to me.

In addition to the safety, I find that I see better with the full face and not fighting the buffetting on my glasses or anything.

I also read a story about flip-face helments and found that my HJC uses plastic hooks to lock the chinbar in place and that under testing those hooks can break at impact. I honestly never flip the thing up so I just purchased a Arai Astral X. It's DOT and Snell, lighter and smaller than the HJC, so we'll see.

I have no idea why I think anyone give's a darn about my opinion, but I thought I'd share just in case.
