Im scared. I want my mommy. Let em have their canine pecking order. I read the information as well and it only reinforced my opinions as to the irrelevance of some of these clubs.

A motorcycle club in reality is about the joy of riding and the sport of riding. Thats why I will wear the PGR patch. Their creed is "Respect" personified. That is the creed and it is subject to no juvenile terms and conditions. It owes no respect to any other group or MC club. It exists for honor.

The parts in the site that Derek posted the link to were illuminating indeed but certainly do not cast a positive light on clubs that really believe the drivel.

The parts about how one should comport oneself when meeting a patch holder were humorous at best.

That creed or code of respect and behavior exists for them and them alone.

Reminds me of Bill Queens true story "Under and Alone"...

Talk about your displaced sense of camaraderie this is it in spades. No different from criminal gangs like la cosa nostra or the crips, bloods or any of the atypical gangs.

They try to manufacture respect and end up in prison. Even that has a twisted honor for them.

Sad bunch that lot.

Your right... no need to purposely go looking for these fools but there is no sense in propagating any sense of reality or level of honor to them either.

Thats all I have to say about that.

The problem is not just wearing a patch. Heck, I have patches. None of them are MC patches. RAT and BA.com patches do not qualify. A PGR patch does not qualify as membership to a MC. So of course outlaw MCs are not going to care about that. There are some MCs that are not outlaw clubs at all (here in Portland there is the Flying 15 and a couple others) but the basic MC rules still apply.

The problem is going to be the attitude you have or anyone else has when the cross paths with any kind of Outlaw MC, or really pi55 off a member of any other MC. They are like a family and will protect their family when neccesary.

BTW... I really like that winged Triumph patch at the top of the this thread.

My attitude such as it is is an American "attitude"

I dont ask for a by your leave from anyone to go anywhere nor do I give deference to people based on an article of clothing or a lack thereof.

I ride a motorcyle but I have no allegances nor shall I form any with any club that uses the basic MC rules.

I am happy to be associated with the PGR riders who in and of themselves purport to no motives or affectations and only seek to do honor where it should be done without any BS weak sister MC rules or protocols.

I abhor these types of protocols and as such I will give them no respect as none is deserved. It is from these antiquated rules that lawlessness and disorder arise.

One only need live by the rule of law. No law as set down by a bunch of overblown cowboys on wheels with a patch on their backs and a weak case of implied machismo will ever apply to me.

Their attitudes towards women are so outdated as to be utterly and completely inane. Too outrageous to even be FUNNY.

Are they real? Oh yea. Some six members of an Outlaw club were shot in Custer State Park in South Dakota yesterday . Appears they were shot by another MC gang. As always these idiots congregate and bring trouble and disrespect to all motorcyclists when they behave like heathens.

Like I said its wrong to give any level of mystique or respect to these animals.

The more disrespect done or spoken towards them the better.

And chances are he won't even know he's taking to one when he sites that little personal bill of rights of his. That's because M/C clubs don't always wear their colors. I tried to explain it to him, but I'm done. With Kevin's attitude, one of these days he'll probably run into some trouble he wished he hadn't started. It's a shame too, because a better creed to live by would be "treat everybody with respect".

You don't have to agree with it or even like it, but you DO have to understand that MC's DO belive in it and live by it!...

and there are different types of MC's but they all seem to abide by the "basic rules" both the "3" patch types and the more "family/local" "1" patch types...

I ride with enough of these guys in the PGR that I like to have a handel on the "rules" before I "play the game"...

I tend more toward a "lone wolf" type of attitude and will never belong to a MC 1 patch or otherwise...just not my thing, but I like to know the rules because I do go to pleanty of functions (bike events) where I do run into MC's alot...

Like Sal said treat everybody WITH respect (until such time as they prove the DON'T deserve it)

Maybe its just me but I'ld rather give it first then take it away, then make them earn it first...

Like the PGR says "riding with respect"

Clearly its time for a note of "reality" here...

So lets ask ourselves this question. What or who in your average MC club regardless of location or name would go so far as to beat another human being near to do death or commit murder based on the simple perception of threat via a cloth patch on a leather vest? Anwser...- a 1 percenter.

That being said I have this to say. You can choose to believe it or not as you see fit.

The vast majority of M/C probably in truth 99% have lots of better things to do other than worry about what someone is wearing whether it be a lone wolf patch picked up on ebay or a PGR backpatch. Those 99% understand what "respect" is and based on that do not present a problem.

Now ...on the other hand the 1% have done nothing to earn anyones respect. They do not want your respect they simply want to intimidate you and they will ACCEPT your fear. So its not legitimate to use the term respect in the same breath when describing a 1% M/C club. No 1%er has ever done anything that warrants my respect. They know that so instead they are really perfectly willing to accept FEAR via intimidation. That my friends is no close relative to respect.

I will stand with anyone anywhere in any flag line at any PGR event 1%er or otherwise as long as they are all there for the same reason I am. to honor those who have given the last full measure.

So understand this and let there be no misunderstandings.

If you are a 1%er and you really live the life than have the cojones to say so and admit you dont want my respect but indeed want my fear in its stead. You would not get my respect so you must be satisfied with my compliance cause thats all your gonna get. if you choose to live a life centered on intimidation and fear than respect is not in your vocabulary.

thats my point. No hidden meanings, no toe tapping around it.

Respect is earned and not given. 1%ers may feel they have earned something but it sure as heck is not respect but fear and intimidation that comes with men who assume the role of being an outlaw and a brigand.

So if you know any 1%er please remember to tell them that.

If you are a member of the other 99% of good M/C clubs then I believe that honor might well be understood and thusly no need for intimidation nor fear will prevail in your club and then ....you have my respect. You ride for good causes and you enjoy the sport of motorcycling. More power to you. Or them as the case may be.

Now, are we all happy now?
