If someone really is an Outlaw and would go so far as to do bodily harm to another rider simply because he or she is wearing a patch that they might somehow construe in and of itself as not deferring to their needed "respect" is someone who is in need of a life.

I agree, but that doesn't mean you won't get your a$$ kicked

I've had two experiences with HA that weren't "bad" perse, but were weird. Once was at a gas station here on the island. My friend and I pulled up, and there were no pumps free. These two HA guys with their barbie doll girlfriends on the back of their rolling couches took their sweet time putting on their helmet, etc. A fullsize VAN finished filling up before they did... And they looked right as us, waiting for a free pump. Gee thanks...

The other was on the way home from Pat's last year on 17 in upstate NY near Binghampton. I was slowly gaining on these two bikes ahead of me. Minding my own buisness keeping a steady pace in the left lane. As I rolled slowly by them I gave a little wave, the usual, and then as soon as I got about a half bike length ahead of them, they took off roaring ahead. Dunno why... That's the part that worried me. A few minutes later I could see a large group of bikes ahead. I didn't get close enough to see if they were HA or not, I figured that was as good a time as any to stop for food
