Problem usually is they are not often solo...while you may be...and they take this VERY seriously...and usually they only ask that you show respect! I ride with many clubs with the PRG and have never had any issues with "Patch wearers" most often "removal" requests only come at a club function (where you may be a guest of one club and they wish for a "colorless" function) or some neutral "no colors" location..

My Father in-law started a MC in the Bahamas and sent me a shirt...but it has the MC on it so I won't wear it....I did not earn that shirt and the right to wear it, so out of respect to those who have/did (go thru what ever is required to become a member) I won't wear it....
I guess you could liken it to some smuck wearing a NAM VET patch or shirt who never was there...just disrespectful to those who were!
