I always like listening to some Blues artist I've never heard. I guess Mark Kerr's a talented enough musician, but his style is a little too polished for my personal tates. I like my Blues a little more raw than that, but you did bring up a challenge I'd like to try.

Roy Buchanan
Duane Allman
Ry Cooder
Eric Clapton
Roy Rogers
Tommy Castro

Whether they're better than Mark Kerr, who's to say? It's just my own little list. And it's not like I limit myself to "white guys only". I still throw in an Albert King CD, or one by Muddy Waters, or BB King, or some of the other all-time greats. But it is an intersting propostion you put out there, and I couldn't pass it up.
