First of all, I just registered today, thanks for all the great info in the forums.
I picked up my black '06 speedmaster in June and it has been a great couple months. I removed the baffles, but it is still not loud enough. I am debating between sceptre and bub. I know sceptre is as loud as it gets, but I've never heard the bub pipes and don't know what to expect (they are cheaper...). Thoughts?
Also, I am new to performance mods, what are some relatively inexpensive and easy ways to get more out of the bike? I've been checking out the other forums, just looking for ideas that have worked for others.

Welcome Bryan, you made a wise choice. The pipes are both excellent pipes, but the Sceptres really are obnoxiosly loud. The bubs are a little quieter, a little. The Bubs will give you a big increase in performance by bolting them on. Go with them is my opinion. I ride with a lot of guys and most of them have the Sceptres, I hate riding behind them so I just make mine faster than theirs so I am in front all the time. First thing you need to do is yank the AI stuff off the bike to keep the headers from turning into blue colored peacocks. Then Get better pipes, rejet the carbs and you'll have about 10 more HP already. Have fun, come back again!
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

I just got the Sceptres and love them!! They sound amazing and I don't think they are as loud as some say. Most Harleys that ride by my house are louder than my Sceptres, but my Sceptres are more smooth, less harsh and raspy like the Harleys. I have not heard the Bub pipes, but I love my Sceptres!! Quality and fit is great as well. And a lifetime warantee!! Good luck.
Oh man!! I'm going to jail!!

Hey Bulldog, glad to have you on board. Look at both pipes and pick the one that looks good to you. They are both good pipes and both will give you a little more power......Angelis

Sceptres, hands down. And, it they are a bit too loud, you can purchase the inserts to tune them a bit. They absolutely look the best too!

I've had Bubs on mine for a year and a half now and love the sound. Only problem with them is they rust where the pipe is welded to the hanger. Not cool. Lots of scrubbing and crome polish gets them looking decent again though.

That's where the Sceptre's gain an advantage. They're 404 stainless inside and out AND the hanger is stainless too with a strip of rubber between the hanger and pipe to reduce vibration related noises.) Baffles are available to reduce overall loudness as well from Team Triumph.

I forgot to mention that Team Triumph also supplies jets with their pipes and stainless clamps with stainless hex heads to boot.

Welcome bulldog... I have and love the septres... They are very high quality. as mentioned above they include jets, and if you end up deciding to do other mods, they will custom build your jet kit so to speak. I don't mind the volume, but if your current pipes aren't loud enough then these are the ones for you... with baffles you can always tone them down, but they sound so great that i doubt you will want to. Do what you can afford, but these are worth every penny so if you can work it, i suggest it, let us know what you decide.

I have the BUBs, and like the sound. I haven't heard any others yet that I like better. I'm looking forward to the NorEast Rally, where I'll be able to hear a bunch of different ones, side by side.

UNClE C... So now that you've heard different pipes, which ones do you like? Anything better sounding than your bubs?
Black '06 Speedmaster, BUB of course.

better is a relative term, no? as a BuBber, i have to say, the only other pipes that i have heard that i like as much are ThunderBike. like 'em a lot, actually.

thanks mert! I absolutely want everyones thoughts on the matter. Better is absolutely a relative term. To each his own. I am looking for a pipe that sounds great, looks great and that is loud but not too damn loud if you know what I mean. Of course not braking the bank would be nice also... thanks again.
Black '06 Speedmaster, BUB of course.

Sceptres. The others sound too soft.

I still like my BUBs. I find the Sceptre's a bit harsh.
Riding next to Kennymc(BUBs) at the NERally, our pipes sounded awesome running together in harmony. It really brought out the sound.
I haven't had a chance to hear CTnewbie's new T-bikes side by side yet. I'm afraid....very afraid.
I'm afraid I'm gonna want'em!

BTW, If you've never been to a Rally, GO! It's hard to explain. It has to be experienced.
