I'm still contemplating the Touring seat, even though I may never do much 2-up. I want a luggage rack, and may yet add the short sissybar/rack combo, even though I would just as soon have the Touring seat and rack alone, and then could bungee things across the saddlebags, rack and seat. The stock Gunfighter on the SM leaves too little cushion to strap things to, and I have some mars in the rear fender paint due to it. The Tourer looks to get things a little higher off the fender, and may match up well with the height of the rack?
(Please chime in if this is not so.)
