Has anyone bought the new Cruiser seat offered by Triumph as an alternative to the stock seat? The Price is $238.00 and is suppose to be a seat geared for long rides. I'm a skeptic, It'a an one piece seat, basically looks like the stock seat -but I need feedback, before I buy

Touring seat is great, especially for the passenger. My fiance loves it with the back rest. It moves you a little forward though.
Oh man!! I'm going to jail!!

I however disagree. Maybe it's just me. I am 5'6 130lb. This is not a seat for me. I can ride 1 hr and my rear is killing me. Burn, burn, burn. My passenger dislikes it as well. It does move you forward and also if you have a backrest, there will be a 2-3" gap between the end of the seat behind the passenger and the backrest so their butt is hanging of the end. Some love it however.

I love the standard America seat arrangement. I've riden 900 mile trips and found the seat comfortable. My wife likes the pillion with the tall back rest. The split seats are more comfortable for a passenger and don't pitch you forward. Just my opinion, of course.

The touring seat has way too much rebound, and will wear you out in 90 miles. Heavier riders may benefit from it, but me, at a mear 230 pounds suffered much. Get a Corbin or Rick Mayer seat. Corbin is great and the quickest replacement, but Rick's saddles are UNREAL!!!

I love the Triumph touring seat. After just getting done with just a bit more over 1500 miles this last weekend, still no complaints about the seat at all. I am about 5' 10" and 175lbs. I wonder if some of the difference that people like or dislike the touring is if they ride an America or Speedmaster. Since the handle bars are completely different, the seating positions are completely different.

What are the Rick Mayer Seats and where do you get them?

Mayer has his own website. There is a link on another seat thread here somewhere. I'm still contemplating the Touring seat, even though I may never do much 2-up. I want a luggage rack, and may yet add the short sissybar/rack combo, even though I would just as soon have the Touring seat and rack alone, and then could bungee things across the saddlebags, rack and seat. The stock Gunfighter on the SM leaves too little cushion to strap things to, and I have some mars in the rear fender paint due to it. The Tourer looks to get things a little higher off the fender, and may match up well with the height of the rack? (Please chime in if this is not so.)

Keith, going with the touring seat, sissy bar and luggage rack was one of the best changes for my Speedmaster. Makes it SO much more versatile. The wife loves it and the luggage rack and bar make a huge difference if you ever want to travel overnight or carry anything. Good luck!
